Major Official Olympiads in India



1. HBCSE Olympiads (Pathway to International Competitions)

Organized by Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) and IAPT.

  • Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy, Mathematics, Junior Science.
  • Stages: National Standard Exams (NSE) → National Olympiads (INPhO/INChO/INBO/etc.) → Training Camp → International Olympiad.
  • Eligibility: Students in Classes 8–12 (age limits vary).

2. Indian Computing Olympiad (ICO)

  • Purpose: Selects teams for the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI).
  • Stages: Zonal Computing Olympiad (ZCO/ZIO) → Indian Computing Olympiad (ICO).

3. National Earth Science Olympiad (NESO)
