Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared this morning that BJP stalwart Lal Krishna Advani will get the highest civilian honor in India, the Bharat Ratna, describing it as an "emotional moment" for him. The Prime Minister praised LK Advani as one of the most esteemed statesmen of our day and noted his enormous contribution to India's progress.
The news that Shri LK Advani Ji will receive the Bharat Ratna makes me very happy. PM Modi said on X, formerly Twitter, "I also spoke to him and congratulated him on being conferred this honour."
In addition to leading multiple ministries, Mr. Advani held the position of Deputy Prime Minister during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee administration. From 1970 till 2019, he served in both Houses of the Parliament.
"His life began with grassroots labor and culminated in his role as our nation's deputy prime minister. He made a name for himself as both our Home Minister and our Minister of I&B. PM Modi remarked, "His parliamentary interventions have always been exemplary and full of rich insights."
In addition, he commended the outgoing president of the BJP for establishing "an exemplary standard" for political ethics.
"Throughout his many years in public service, Adani Ji has demonstrated an unflinching dedication to integrity and transparency, creating a model for political ethics. He stated, "He has made unmatched efforts to enhance national unity and cultural renaissance.
The Prime Minister remarked that receiving the Bharat Ratna for the stalwart leader was a really emotional event for him.
